Federal Tax Credits and Free Tax Filing for Child Care and Head Start Staff and Parents

MP900316868Did you miss the December webinar on “Federal Tax Credits and Free Tax Filing for Child Care and Head Start Staff and Parents?”  Robin Freeman from Central Arkansas Development Council and Karen O’Neill from the IRS shared valuable information that you can use right now.  Take a look at their presentation to get all the details.

The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) can provide hard-working families with up to a $5751 refund when they file their taxes in the next few months.  To learn more about the EITC, how it works, and if you are eligible, look at IRS Pub 3211.

And eligible families can find someone to file their taxes for free at one of the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites across the state.   To find a site near you, take a look at this list of 2012 sites, call 1-800-906-9887, or check out the IRS website for a final list after the first of the year.
