 Long-Range Goal #4

The HSSCO will work collaboratively to support the expansion of the Arkansas Better Beginnings/QRIS in early childhood programs across the state of Arkansas.

Objectives:

(Process Goals)

  • To maintain collaborative, working, and ongoing relationships with national, regional, state, and local community service organizations in sharing and disseminating information about Arkansas’ Better Beginnings/QRIS.
  • To work with the state team in developing levels four and five for the QRIS.
  • To follow-up and continue to encourage and support Head Start programs in their participation in Better Beginnings, our newly implemented QRIS in Arkansas.
  • To share updates on the number of Head Start programs that have completed the Better Beginnings/QRIS levels one, two, and three as presented at the Arkansas Early childhood Commission quarterly meetings.  We plan to have 100% of Head Start programs in the BB/QRIS system within the next five years.
  • To incorporate the BB/QRIS training and information during the Arkansas Head Start Association’s annual institute.
  • To compare and contrast the Child Development Early Learning Standards in order to address school readiness and state planning by completing a revised crosswalk between DCC’s ELS and the Head Start’s Child Outcomes.
  • The HSSCO will inform new directors of the leadership training with the BB/QRIS.
