HSThe federally funded Head Start program serves low-income three and four year old children and their families. The purpose is to promote EHSThe federally funded Early Head Start (EHS) program serves low-income families with infants and toddlers and pregnant women. The purpose of EHS is to promote healthy prenatal outcomes for pregnant women, enhance the development of very young children, and promote healthy family functioning. M/SHSThe federally funded Migrant/Seasonal Head Start program serves children birth to five years of age and their families. Migrant families ABC/ABCSSArkansas Better Chance was created in 1991 to offer high quality early education services to children birth to five exhibiting developmental/socioeconomic risk factors. In 2003, the Arkansas General Assembly made a commitment to expand the program to serve low‐income three and four‐year old children. This expansion, known as Arkansas Better Chance for School Success (ABCSS), serves over 24,000 children in a variety of early childhood programs including Head Start.
